How to Get Best Deals at Kohl's
Kohl's is one of the most underrated, under spoken of stores for bargain shopping. This department store chain sells everything from home goods to high heels. At first glance it may not seem very competitive but if you factor in the many coupons and generous rewards programs you won't end up shopping anywhere else.
Here is a simple three step guide to getting even bigger discounts the next time you shop at Kohl's.
1. Two words: Kohl's cash
Kohl's cash rewards are earned when there is a special event that is advertised online, through email and sometimes print mailers. You can get $10 back for every $50 you spend during this promotion. Then you will receive Kohl's cash vouchers that are emailed to you after you make your purchase and you can redeem them in-store or online. Kohl's Black Friday sale offers $15 back for every $50 you spend.
Bonus tip: Kohl's cash accrues at $10 per $50 spent but there is a very interesting secret. If you happen to be within two dollars of the next level of Kohl's cash they will automatically round it up. That means if you've only spent $48 you will get $10 in Kohl's cash anyway.
2. Sign up for a Kohl's charge card and you get a Yes2Yes rewards membership.
Frequent Kohl’s shoppers get great benefits from the Kohls card especially if you are shopping on Black Friday. If you sign up now you get 25% off your very first day of shopping with the card and then an additional 15% off when your card comes in the mail. On top of that Kohl’s has two rewards programs Kohl's cash and Yes2Yes rewards both gives you money back on your purchases.
Unlike Kohl's cash offers which are typically for a limited time and only on certain items, the other program Yes2Yes rewards are not every dollar that you spend at Kohl's no matter when or how you make the purchase. Every dollar you spend is worth one point and you get five dollars back for every 100 points earned.
Kohl's is planning to overhaul its rewards program and it will be called Kohl's Rewards. Currently it is being tested in markets now and should be released nationwide sometime in 2019.
3. Look for mail-in rebates.
Many of the prices in the Kohl’s ads already include the mail-in rebates, which you'll have to send in and redeem after you buy. You will get the price in the circular but it just takes some extra work on your part.
However there is a lot of fine print that advertise extra savings that can even drop an item more into your price range. Often you can find an additional 10% off a certain brand or item. Typically in the past Black Friday sales, Kohl's can offer an additional 20% off all KitchenAid stand mixers with the attachments. These discounts sometimes are not listed in the black Friday ad so make sure you check out these extra tidbits of savings if you're thinking about buying something.
4. Stack up your Kohl’s coupons and save.
Now you have the Kohl’s card and you've also signed up for the Kohl's cash alerts and you're even a member of the rewards Yes2Yes program. You even know what kind of mail-in rebates and additional discounts are featured on the things that you want to buy. I can get even get even better when you stack up these discounts and save even more.
To do this Kohl’s allows you to stack up for different kinds of discounts as long as you use only one of each. You can use:
One site wide percent off offer. For example 15% off offer for Black Friday shoppers
One category percent off offer. For example 10% off Instant Pot
One dollar off offer. For example take $10 off a $50 purchase
One shipping offer. For example free shipping on all items
You will still earn Kohl's cash and the rewards Yes2Yes dollars on any purchase when you keep on stacking and you can also still mail in your rebates for the products after you apply your discounts. Kohl’s also give subscribers a lot of mystery bonuses several times a month. There isn't always a way to combine all of these discounts but there's almost always a way to at least get one Kohl’s coupon code and shave even more bucks off of your order in addition.
